◊ It isn’t always easy to be a helping hand to a broken heart. Perhaps not everyone is suited for the job, but we can at least try. Sometimes, all we need is for someone to listen to us – no advices are needed, just a simple reassurance that someone cares for us. We all like a good hug sometimes, right?
To sit with the broken is to sit with yourself, sometimes – is to give yourself time to be sad and know it will get better. Go easy on yourself and others. Respect everyone – we are all fighting our own battle and you never know who might be going through a hard time even when you see them smiling. So much can be deceived behind a smile.
Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. You like when someone listens to you when you rant about your problems? Do you like when someone holds you when you cry? Be that person to someone else. Be kind. Encourage people to keep fighting. This life is too wonderful to waste it thinking we are not good enough.
Learn to accept others the way they are and let them know they are free to be exactly that around you. Don’t be judgmental – we are all different and that’s what makes each of us special and unique. It’s ok to be different. And do remember – we are all allowed to feel; if there’s something I have learned is that I don’t have to be sorry for feeling sad or being moody. You don’t have to apologize for being broken – this life is hard and we all have our ups and downs. Accept yours and everyone else’s ups and downs. Let’s be nice to each other, shall we?
