“They say you are like a devil in disguise
For you love everything that isn’t right,
And perhaps that’s exactly why
Some sort of force pulls me towards you tonight.
I have been guarded for a while,
Playing it safe, throughout time and seasons
So now I am stronger even behind a smile
Whilst my brain outnumbers my heart’s reasons.
With regained awareness, I’m off the hook
As the dreadful devil in disguise
Lays his eyes on someone else who smiles
And his newest prey has now eyes as blue as ice.”
Ana.
Tiny detail I thought I might as well share: the idea for this poem came to me, on wednesday night, whilst I was suffering from insomnia. So, from your sleepless Ana to your hearts, I hope you enjoy this piece.
With Love,
Ana.
This is so beautiful written. Sometimes wrong is the only right
