Waiting for my heart

“Autumn sun shines high
As I look at the sky
Trying to find strength even if I can’t rhyme
The thoughts that pile up within my heart.

The heaviness I can’t seem to shake off
Has been haunting me as it feeds of
All the sadness that, as a warrior’s shadow,
Coldly aims at happiness with an arrow.

I try to find solid ground so I can breathe,
Turns out life is more of a puzzle than a recipe –
If I knew where to go, I wouldn’t be standing here
Waiting for my heart to rebound after a bad year.”
