River

“He told me I should see life as a river
Just so I, just like the water,
Would keep flowing, never standing still.
However, he didn’t understand I could see it too
As I felt the waves in my bones,
The twirl in my head, the flood in my heart,
Whilst the reflection of the surroundings
Reflected as crystal clear on my eyes.
My life is a bunch of nothing yet it weights too much
And sometimes I strive for a bit of peace,
Treasure gold I need to find so I can kiss
Serendipity and peace of mind.
Chance comes to us whilst we move forward
And I find myself flooded by words,
A different kind of river you don’t know
On which I gladly adventure on my own.
The pace of the flowing water increases
Yes, that’s why sometimes you feel
Like you can’t catch up with me
Telling me I’m so distant, it’s like I disappear
Whilst standing near, I’m right beside you, dear.
But my river is made of words
And as soon as we meet I see them
Clear enough to find the strength I need
To keep going, faster and stronger.
If, however, you still wonder
Where you can find me
Perhaps I have been taken away
By words that made
Not only me but my whole river;
I shall then be standing in the middle
Of a waterfall you shall call pretty
When in fact it will be magnifying,
A natural creation never seen,
And perhaps one day
My words will take me
Somewhere even further
And I’ll burst out into the ocean.”
