Change

“You perceive a change
In the light
As the sun rises
And what was once right
Switches sides.
Words weight is brand new
From where you stand
Watching a world
You try to reach and behold.
Changing – you are not the same;
Flattery which once got you
Can no longer convince you
And dreams that have made you
Have ceased to amaze you.
You are growing
Rediscovering yourself
Over and over again
Spinning with the way of the world
Still uncertain which way to go.”

Changing

“All that we say,
All that we do,
It’s clear we are
Not here to stay.
Change the weather,
Give me a sweater.
I was nothing but a little girl
Scared of rain
Trying to live
With a heart full of pain.
I now know more than I did before
You came into my life
To steal me from
The happiness of flood
Of the river I now hold
Inside my head and reason
Changing every season
In a way I don’t know
Myself anymore.”

Stain

“The life as I now know it,
Is not as pure as it was before
Since now I am aware of little changes
As I walk through a sea of faces.
Little things here and there,
That opened my eyes to
Everything that wasn’t true,
Especially when it comes to you.
People will always surprise me
But the initial shock won’t be
As strong as it was when you
Left me waiting alone
While I froze to the bone.
I still recall your face.
So far, yet the past is so plain:
A stagnated picture in my head as a stain,
Blurred as a painting left in the rain.”

When the tide changes

“When the tide changes into a dead sea,
Hiding away all that, in life, there is,
My boat remains stagnant,
My memories get tainted.

When the tide changes drastically,
Spitting out my darkness, unkindly,
My boat becomes a skiff,
My wine gets spilled.

When the tide changes to a lullaby,
Hoping I can still find my rhymes,
At sunrise, my boat is left empty
For my path still changes at times.”
