Change

“You perceive a change
In the light
As the sun rises
And what was once right
Switches sides.
Words weight is brand new
From where you stand
Watching a world
You try to reach and behold.
Changing – you are not the same;
Flattery which once got you
Can no longer convince you
And dreams that have made you
Have ceased to amaze you.
You are growing
Rediscovering yourself
Over and over again
Spinning with the way of the world
Still uncertain which way to go.”

I search the world

“I search the world for something to find,
Whatever it may be,
I don’t know what, I just want to be free
Of the expectations I feel weighting on me.

I search the world for something to hold,
Whatever it may be,
As long as it is made of love,
Like a hug that pushes away the cold.

I search the world for something to write,
Whatever it may be,
All I want is for it to mean something
To somebody else other than me…

I search the world for something to be,
Whatever it may be,
As long as I am free, made of love
And filled with words that push away the cold
I am sure I will learn to be glad I am me…”

Life’s road

“What does one call to the cold that lingers
When the sun warms and swings us
Right back to the action we have been missing
To take on board all the planning and scheming?

So much of the heart has been left on hold,
Waiting and waiting as it only got old
For something good to be foretold,
For once, in a life where only lies are told.

Promises lack vacancies for the truth,
But words keep travelling the world in shapes of dreams
That lose themselves to wanderlust in their youth,
Only to wake up one day questioning how they got here.

Life’s road is full of twists and turns,
I’m done trying to find clues to paths meant for me;
All I know is life, like a game, can crash down but it still runs
If you are stubborn enough to confidently say “try me”.”

Landscapes made of words

“I cherish landscapes made of words
That I get to visit through the books I own,
In my unstoppable search for worlds
Where I could be someone who feels whole.

Day by day, I lose myself to nonsense,
So, I go back to the stories with an essence
Of adventure, trying to get rid of the sadness
With a spark of magic or a bit of madness.

Many pages grant us the escape,
At least, for a while, there’s no haste
To be under the pressure of the real world
That only makes my heart feel cold.”

Can I

“Can I lay down to rest
For a bit, in my quiet nest,
Without feeling I must own
A reason to the world?

My tired limbs are mine to hold,
So let me be, I know I don’t belong
Here, never did, never will,
To fit in is no use, I spin on a different wheel.

My future is, to me, unknown,
A fortune I haven’t been told,
Perhaps I will meet it somewhere down the road
Where my heart will find love that’ll understands its own.”

Keep going

“I suppose there are stranger ways
To talk about our mistakes
As if they are just poetical stains
Of red wine on a snow-white cloth.

You can call it a strange oath,
The forever contract I have with words,
But when everyone is out and about in the world,
Silence doesn’t turn to loneliness when I’m alone.

Tell me, does it scare you to be alone?
Does it weight too much, the silence of the world?
It takes courage, it’s true, isn’t that so,
To learn to be with your thoughts on your own?

But we all need to learn to cope
With the demons of our own soul;
By ignoring them, the problem won’t be solved,
So take a seat and listen to yourself for once.

Time will help for it goes on,
For the good or the bad, it always does,
And soon enough you’ll feel better
As long as you too keep going on and on and on…”

Chain reaction

“Everything has changed,
Still enduring the pain;
Fear in the air as a chain
That doesn’t know yet the reaction it will gain.

May the good ever prevail
In every text, call or mail,
For disarray speeches are made
But they should never win the game.

When rules are overrun,
Who do we to, then, turn?
Fairness is, to be seen, nowhere
As far as the heart can bear.

Human rights are to every fight
As truth is for every confessor –
Lie, you’ll say, they still might
But only for fun like hunting a birthday treasure.”

At peace’s wake

“Excuse me for my poetry,
Today and for the time coming –
I just cannot find within me the almighty
Strength, that helps us believing.

Believing in the good,
I always thought I could,
But life has darkened the blue
Of our most profound hue.

And I can’t understand, I can’t accept,
I feel littler than I have ever felt,
As I feel the biggest hopelessness…
So little, so powerless, such a mess.

Togetherness could lead the way,
A helping hand in every way we can;
Hope is a seed humanity can plant,
So to revive the good’s strength.

Days will tell what all this entails,
As I send the hope I got left to whoever needs it,
Today, tonight, tomorrow, through every trail –
Reach out from a distance and be sure to keep it.

Now, I must wait,
At peace’s wake,
For it to be reborn, all over,
In our hearts, once more.”

Ana

Please remember

“As we battle through trying times,
I feel the strength in my core shaking
And fear runs wild whilst throwing aces,
Knowing that topping its game might take us ages.

Resilience screams so Hope can be heard:
We are stronger together when we act as one;
The miles and inches don’t matter –
We’re striving for the same silver lining, please remember.

Absence of touch is not absence of love
I can’t stress this enough,
Lord, when will they learn
That to protect and to care is the new chivalry of fond love?”

Please stay safe and be strong.

Lots of love,
Ana.

Travel with me

“Might save some pennies
And travel the world,
I would like you to join me
Would you like to go?
A penny for your thoughts,
What’s on your mind?
Travel with me,
Let’s find paradise.
Life has placed a carpet
The colour you wish it to be,
I might see red, you might see blue,
Towards a horizon we would happily walk to.”
