“Old, haunting thoughts
Swirl back to the main stage
Of my drained mind
Looking for a place to shine.
Dressed in black,
They shift the mood
From grace to hell,
Reassuring the obvious:
They have never left.
Now I find myself
Spending each day
Feeling anxious
About tomorrow.
I try to fight it the best I can
As I whisper to myself:
Cut the evil from its root
Before it grows on you…”
Ana.
Well Ana, that’s a dark place I’ve visited a few times. I hope it’s not your current autobiography. All the best xx

It actually is. I have been dealing with some anxiety issues for some time now and this weekend was quite intense on that department. Anxiety and overthinking are two old friends of mine. All the best for you too Aaron! Thanks for reading! xx

Sorry to hear that Ana. I think anxiety and overthinking are never too far away from imaginative, insightful people. But it does have an upside, which manifests in your writing xx

I agree! And writing is indeed what helps me to cope with it all.

So very well written. Cutting the evil from an overthinking mind is so important but often ignored👍

And even when not ignored is hard work for an overthinker! Thank you so much, Shantanu!
